Guilty Pleasure

27 Apr

Something one enjoys and considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying it. Often, the “guilt” involved is simply fear of others discovering one’s lowbrow or otherwise embarrassing tastes, rather than actual moral guilt. – Wikipedia

We all have them…“so good to eat but so not good for you” grub (like the multitude of choices at Bel Frites), US Weekly, The Daily 10…Reality TV. From time to time I will watch my occasional Reality TV: Real Housewives of New York, Tori and Dean Home Sweet Hollywood, Pretty Wild (now that is embarrassing to admit because it is altogether absurd). But I am so excited, because tonight I get to immerse myself in my biggest guilty pleasure to date thanks to MTV’s flair for reality shows: The City! The spinoff is a breath of fresh air compared to the twilight zone otherwise known as The Hills. And what makes The City so gripping beyond the enduringly sweet Whitney Port and utterly professional Erin Kaplan? The mind-boggling style of Miss Olivia Palermo. Her contemporary street style is city-minded, sexy and chic. Just be sure to overlook her conniving ways.

Stripes + nautical elements + massive statement necklace = laid-back city chic and so appropriate for spring!

A great way to spice up an otherwise conservative, classic tweed jacket…pair with teeny sequined shorts. And a wonderful example of transitioning the fall/winter jacket into spring!

A classic, closet staple (men’s white button down) paired with the pinnacle of investment bags: the Hermes Birkin.

Love the nude Louboutin booties with the wildly-printed but neutral dress…makes for a great combination.
