Sunday Eats: Grown-Up Ham and Cheese

25 Apr

Last week I practiced my appetizer-making skills with a grown-up version of the ham and cheese sandwich from Food Network, as seen here. The combination of watercress, aged Gouda (aka grown-up cheese), crisp green apples, prosciutto (aka grown-up ham) and pickled onions was refreshingly tasty and so fun to assemble.

Tonight I will be turning these delectable bites into an actual meal (still got some leftover ingredients I hate to see go to waste). By increasing the size of the “mini” sandwiches and pairing with a light spinach, feta and tomato salad dinner shall be served!

Husband Tested: the hubby had tried the mini version and actually requested the larger one, stating that he really, really liked it (especially the pickled onions). Score!
