Local Eats

22 Feb

Stopped into Kay’s Country Kitchen today in Old Towne Orcutt and with each visit I am reminded of just how delicious this quaint, locally owned eatery is!

Why: It’s where the locals go (you’ll not be able to eat without running into an old friend or acquaintance), reasonably priced, friendly and delightful.

Try: Red Dragon Melt made with Red Dragon sharp cheddar cheese and red onions on grilled sourdough, Corned Beef Hash and Eggs (complete with warm and flaky homemade biscuits) or the Eggs Benedict with perfectly-dilled Hollandaise sauce and thickly sliced ham.

Notice: The charming copper kitchen backdrop, photos and memorabilia from years past, the cream tin-tiled ceiling and the hospitable coffee station outside for while you wait (note: this is a very popular stop, so be ready to wait at least 30 minutes for a table during the weekends).
